The GSoC Intro event served as an orientation for students interested in participating in Google Summer of Code (GSoC). Slop 4.0 was organized as part of Hacktoberfest, celebrating open-source contributions through a collaborative hackathon. Participants worked on real-world projects, submitted pull requests, and gained hands-on experience with version control, fostering a culture of collaboration and learning in the open-source community.

Techloop was a comprehensive event focused on exploring various domains of technology, providing participants with an overview of fields like web development, AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, and more. It featured interactive sessions, hands-on workshops, and live demos to help attendees discover their interests and gain foundational knowledge in diverse tech areas.
16th January 2024
The GoLang session introduced participants to the language's basics, including syntax, control structures, and concurrency. Through a hands-on project, attendees built a command-line tool, gaining practical experience and a strong foundation in Go for future projects.

An introductory session on Git and GitHub, covering version control basics, branching, merging, and remote repository management. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, learning essential Git commands and collaboration techniques for open-source contributions.

This was a GSoC information and awareness session arranged by DSC. The student community got in conversation with Mr Rajat Talesra and were introduced on how to contribute to the Open Source community. The speaker gave information regarding GSoC application process and guided on contributing to Oppia Foundation.

The session on Android Development is conducted for students interested in starting their Android Development journey. The session covers introductory Android concepts like layouts, activities, manifests, intents and activity life-cycle. The students develop a two-screen app from the learnings of the session.
13th April 2021
This session explains the different terminologies related to REST APIs and detailed explanations on handling different request types such as GET, POST, PUT and DELETE. The students build an API with CRUD functionalities using Flask framework.
8th December 2020
Full house session on Git and Github. Students learnt about basics of Git using Command Line Interface. Open Source Software development was introduced and many participants made their first pull request in the interactive session.

The Semester Long Projects (SLoP) initiative is a long-term event celebrating Open Source culture with students. The 2-month long virtual event allowed students to contribute to open source projects of their choice under the guidance of mentors.
